I've added at style for "blockquote" for tinymce, Settings/Stylesheets/tinymce/ the style is named "Blockquote" and in field alias I also entered Blockquote
The style shows up nice in tinyMce editor styles-dropdown. And when I use it with FF the html is changed to <blockquote>selected text</blockquote> as I like. Same goes for Chrome. But in IE nothing happens.
Other styles, like h1, h2, h3 works fine in IE though.

Ok, perhaps not the perfect solution since one needs to go inside the tinymce scripts. However might be helpful for others with the same problem.
Ok, so now I answered my own q... But if someone has another (more straightforward) solution to this, please say a word :-)
